Quick Start

Record your first video in under 5 minutes. No configuration required — EasySpecy works great with default settings.

Step 1: Launch EasySpecy

Open EasySpecy from your Start Menu (Windows), Applications folder (macOS), or app launcher (Linux).

You should see the main dashboard with:

  • Sidebar on the left with navigation
  • "NEW RECORDING" button (green)
  • Status indicator showing "System Ready" with a green dot

Step 2: Choose Your Capture Area

Full Screen (Default)

Click "NEW RECORDING" to start recording your entire primary screen immediately.

Region Select

  1. Click the region select icon in the toolbar (or press Ctrl+Shift+E)
  2. Click and drag to select a rectangular area
  3. Release to confirm — EasySpecy will only record that region

Window Capture

  1. Click the window picker icon
  2. Select the window you want to record
  3. EasySpecy will track that window even if you move it

Step 3: Start Recording

Click "NEW RECORDING" or press the default hotkey:

ActionHotkey
StartCtrl+Shift+R

PauseCtrl+Shift+P

When recording starts:

  • The status indicator turns red and pulses
  • A timer appears showing recording duration
  • The app minimizes to system tray (optional)

Step 4: Do Your Thing

Record whatever you need:

  • Software tutorials
  • Bug demonstrations
  • Game footage
  • Presentations
  • Anything on your screen!

Pro tip: EasySpecy runs in the background. You can minimize or close the window — recording continues until you stop it.

Step 5: Stop and Save

Press Ctrl+Shift+S or click Stop in the system tray.

EasySpecy instantly saves your recording as an MP4 file to your configured output directory:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<You>\Videos\EasySpecy\
  • macOS: /Users/<You>/Movies/EasySpecy/
  • Linux: /home/<You>/Videos/EasySpecy/

The file is named with a timestamp: easyspecy_2026-06-03_17-30-45.mp4

Step 6: Review Your Recording

Open the saved MP4 file in any video player:

  • Windows: Movies & TV, VLC, MPC-HC
  • macOS: QuickTime, IINA, VLC
  • Linux: VLC, MPV, Celluloid

You should see:

  • Screen: High-fidelity screen capture
